Deborah Young

Deborah, a native of Philadelphia, PA, embarked on a life-changing journey when she moved to Houston, TX, in 2014. At her lowest point, she faced the overwhelming weight of depression, suicidal thoughts, poverty, abuse, and alcohol addiction. But everything changed when she encountered the Holy Spirit during a powerful service at Greater Works Ministries. That moment of surrender to Jesus Christ became the turning point that transformed her life forever.

 

Through intense counseling, spiritual growth training, and leadership training, Deborah found healing and a renewed sense of purpose. After serving at three different women’s empowerment organizations in 2016 and 2017 it was revealed to her that women needed a deeper, more spiritual approach to walk boldly in their God-given purpose. In December of 2018, under the spiritual covering of Apostle Shon Gray, Deborah founded Growing & Empowering Myself Spiritually (GEMS), a movement that equips women to thrive spiritually and emotionally.

 

Having triumphed over low self-esteem, abuse, and internal struggles, Deborah’s passion lies in guiding women from victimhood to victory. As a published author of “Six Strategies to Becoming an Empowered Woman” and “Women of Purpose: A Rose from the Concrete,” she inspires women to overcome life’s challenges and step boldly into their God-Given Purpose. Deborah has served as an ordained Minister for 7 years at Greater Works Ministries and uses her spiritual gifts to help women find freedom, and fall in love with Jesus. She currently lives in Houston, TX with her wonderful son who is embracing his calling as a powerful young man of God. Deborah’s life story is a testimony of God’s grace, and she has accepted God’s commission to help women find healing, grow spiritually, and walk in their divine purpose.
